
Grand Marais Events 1998
- In June, 1998, the Grand Marais Summer Funshops 98
Begin: Fun learning experiences for all ages. Taught by local artisans.
Program runs through August.
- July 4th, 1998: The Annual 4th of July Celebration
takes place. Parade, Games, Contests, Street Dance, Plane Rides and ending
with Fireworks over beautiful Grand Marais Harbor.
- July 5th: 4th Annual Senior Housing Flea Market with
clowns, food, bake sale and flea market. Sponsored by Grand Marais Citizens,
Inc., and Senior Housing.
- July 16th - 19th: 14th Annual Great Lakes Kayak Symposium.
Equipment displays, demonstrations and training. Fun in the sun on the
beaches of Grand Marais.
- July 18th: Annual Grand Marais Fly-In. Plane rides
over scenic Lake Superior and the Dunes. Pig Roast at 1:00 p.m. (Rain date
is July 19th)
- August 8th and 9th: 17th Annual Music and Arts Festival.
Two fun filled days of popular live outdoor music. Variety of Art Booths
and Craft Sales.
- Experience Grand Marais 365 Days a year. Hike miles
of scenic trails or across massive dunes. Camp in modern or rustic campgrounds.
Snowmobile and ski on miles and miles of groomed trails. Enjoy fishing,
hunting, boating and mountain biking.
